Dear everyone: I’ve seen terms like lock-hopper pumps and lock-hopper circulation pumps a few times, but I’m not sure what they mean. It seems to be used in coal chemical industry. If anyone knows something about its working principle, performance, characteristics, etc., please let me know. It would be best to have a structural diagram or an image of the actual item. The lock hopper is a component of the Texaco vaporization system; the lock hopper circulation pump is used to pump water into the lock hopper, and it is just an ordinary centrifugal pump with no special features
The lock-hopper circulation pump is a regular centrifugal pump; it transports black water containing approximately 10% solid particles, at a temperature of around 150 degrees – nothing special about it.
