What adhesive should be used to bond the gaskets of plate heat exchangers? Can a carpenter’s strong adhesive be used? :) :) :) :) :) :)
401 glue, also known as 801 glue on the market, can be applied in a thin layer using a brush in the grooves where the plate meets the gasket. After sticking it, let it sit for a few hours or a day before installing it. Make sure the fit is even.
Generally, 801 (an environmentally friendly adhesive) is used; in any case, it’s best to choose adhesives with a low chloride content, as chloride ions are corrosive to the panels.
