If the diameter of a main pipe is relatively large, for example, if the diameter of a main pipe for high-pressure steam is required to be DN800, this main pipe needs to be divided into multiple branch pipes. High-pressure steam, using a 800-inch main pipe, constitutes a pressure vessel, which requires higher manufacturing standards. It is much safer to use seamless steel pipes with a smaller diameter. Therefore, I think it is better to divide it into 2 or more branch pipes.
I also think it’s better to have more than 2 branch pipes.
I don’t know the answer to this question; I’ll look up some information tomorrow. What is your high-pressure steam pressure? I have worked on pipes at a pressure of 90 bar, with a DN400 diameter.
If 800mm pipes are used, valves, flanges, gaskets, and pipe compensation become quite problematic. It is recommended to divide it into multiple tubes.
Multiple pipes are better. The valves are easy to operate.
It is still necessary to calculate the future usage; when the diameter doubles, for example, from DN25 to DN50, the flow rate increases by approximately a factor of 4. Therefore, the subsequent usage amount is still important, but the flow rate must be determined based on actual conditions.
