Eligibility criteria for the National Registered Safety Engineer Professional Qualification Examination: (1) Any citizen of the People’s Republic of China who abides by **laws and regulations and meets one of the following conditions may apply to take the Registered Safety Engineer Professional Qualification Examination: 1. Hold a second bachelor’s degree in safety engineering or engineering economics, or have graduated from a graduate program, and have at least 2 years of experience in work related to safe production ； Or have obtained a second bachelor’s degree in another field or graduated from a graduate program, with at least 3 years of experience in work related to safe production. 　　5. Hold a master’s degree in safety engineering or engineering economics, and have at least 1 year of experience in work related to safe production ； Or hold another professional master’s degree and have at least 2 years of experience in work related to safe production. 　　6. Obtain a doctoral degree in safety engineering or engineering economics ； Or hold a doctoral degree in another field, with at least 1 year of experience in work related to safe production. 　　(II) Professionals who meet the eligibility requirements for the registration examination for safety engineers, who were appointed to senior professional and technical positions by the end of 2002, and who have been engaged in work related to work safety for at least 10 years, may be exempted from the exams on \"Knowledge of Work Safety Management\" and \"Work Safety Technology\"; they only need to take the exams on \"Law on Work Safety and Related Laws\" and \"Case Analysis of Work Safety Accidents\". 　　(III) In accordance with the spirit of the Ministry of Personnel’s Notice on Issues Related to ** and Macao residents’ Participation in the Professional and Technical Qualification Exams Held Uniformly on the Mainland (Document No. Guo Ren Bu Fa [2005] 9), starting from the 2005 examination cycle, all ** and Macao residents who meet the requirements for taking the Certified Safety Engineer qualification exam may register for the relevant professional exams in accordance with the prescribed procedures and requirements. **When applying to take the Certified Safety Engineer professional qualification exam, Macao residents must submit their identification documents, a diploma or degree in a relevant field recognized by the education administrative department of the State Council, as well as proof of the number of years of work experience in related fields obtained from relevant professional institutions. 　　(IV) The requirement regarding educational qualifications in the above application conditions refers to educational qualifications or degrees recognized by the **education authorities ； The requirement regarding the length of time spent in related business work refers to the total amount of time spent in such work before and after obtaining the required educational qualification, with the deadline set at the end of 2007.

Sure, but the organization needs to issue the relevant certification.

As long as your educational qualifications and the number of years since graduation meet the requirements set out in the eligibility criteria for the National Registered Safety Engineer Qualification Examination, and as long as a company signs the application form on your behalf, that’s sufficient.

Obtaining the certificate means you have the qualifications to be a safety engineer; if you don’t work in safety, you should not register.

Sure, find an organization to issue a certificate. It might come in handy someday

I graduated in June 2005 with a diploma in Process Automation at the junior college level. I have been working in the field of chemical process control since January 2005. I worked at an oilfield company for one year; currently, I am employed at a Class B design institute, where I am mainly involved in automation design for chemical, petroleum and natural gas, and petrochemical industries. Since I do not hold a certification as an automation engineer, I intend to take the exam to become a certified safety engineer. I’m not sure whether I am eligible to apply this year; I would appreciate any advice from those who are more experienced. Application requirements: 2. I agree with what was said on floor 8: as long as the number of years since graduation is sufficient, especially for those in science and engineering fields, and as long as the employer provides relevant certification stamped with the official seal, it’s possible to apply.

I’ve only been at my new company for a short time, but I have worked at my previous company for a sufficient length of time – is that okay?

May I ask, can someone with an associate degree in business administration from a Party school, who has worked in safety management for 3.5 years, apply and register?

This exam isn’t that mysterious; as long as you meet the required experience criteria and get the approval stamp from your employer, you can take it
