1. During the baking process in the SHELL vaporizer, after stage 1, which is carried out using auxiliary steam for heating, it is necessary to vent and drain water/steam from the side in question until the temperature drops to around 100°C before starting heating with the main gas. To what extent should the water/steam be removed from this side? Should there still be some water/steam remaining? Otherwise, it could have an impact on the water-cooled wall tubes. If water/steam is still present, how can it be ensured that pressure does not build up on that side? Why not simply add the main gas for heating in order to continue the baking while keeping the temperature raised on that side? Can’t that be done?

The emission must be complete; otherwise, the wall temperature will be at the level of the saturated steam temperature, and the purpose of drying the furnace will not be achieved. The temperature for drying the furnace with smoke must reach 450°C, which is above the critical temperature of water – this condition is not taken into account for membrane walls
