The coal chemical industry complex focuses on two main industrial chains: coal-to-oil and coal-to-alcohols and ethers. Large-scale demonstration sites for a circular economy based on coal are being developed there; once completed, these sites will be capable of converting around 38 million tons of coal per year, generating an economic value of over 60 billion yuan and yielding profits and taxes amounting to 21.5 billion yuan. Nine projects have been established, with a total investment of 97 billion yuan; the first phase of investment amounts to 15.4 billion yuan, and 5.8 billion yuan has already been invested. Among them, the first phase of Jinhua Machine Petrochemical has been put into operation, while the preliminary work for the second phase is underway. Yitai coal-to-oil project has entered the trial production phase; the plan for the second phase has been prepared and submitted to the **Development and Reform Commission for approval. Based on the progress of the planning, the regulatory detailed plan for 6.1 square kilometers in the western municipal area and the development detailed plan for 2 square kilometers in the eastern municipal area have been prepared. The planning and design for the forest park, sandland botanical garden (including the sandland golf course), and folk culture park have been completed, with efforts being made to meet the conditions for commencement of construction within this year. Strive to get the methanol projects of Menghua Energy, Northwest Energy, and Donghua Energy, as well as the polysilicon project of Guodian, the alumina and aluminum-silicon-titanium projects of Datang, and the formaldehyde and polyformaldehyde projects of Kailuan, started up. Strive to make significant progress on projects such as Kaiyuan Ecological Aluminum Industry and dibutylene glycol. Continue to actively introduce high-tech projects other than coal and power generation in order to promote structural adjustment.
