To prevent the asphalt from solidifying, heating is used in the asphalt tanks. Is steam the medium in the heat exchange tubes? Crude oil doesn’t require this kind of heating method; is insulation applied only on the outside? What about diesel and gasoline? The most basic question – please don’t laugh, I’m just new to these things
We have done experiments of heating gasoline and diesel tanks with hot water; if the steam temperature is too high, the oil tends to carbonize. I can’t remember exactly what that temperature is.
There are several scenarios: 1. Those with insulation in the heating zone; for example, in the case of asphalt, this is because the temperature of the medium is higher than room temperature, and steam or electric heating is generally used. 2. Those that only provide insulation are used to prevent the temperature of the medium from dropping too low; for example, with diesel, insulation is necessary to avoid wax formation. In northern regions, when the temperature drops to -12 degrees Celsius, diesel grade -10 will start to form wax. . Gasoline does not need to be kept warm
