Closed-loop circulation of phosphatic ammonium wastewater

Since the renovation of our plant’s wastewater treatment system to achieve a closed-loop system in 2007, the wastewater from the phosphammonium production unit has been successfully processed within a completely closed loop, resulting in zero wastewater discharge. I’m curious to know how other phosphammonium production plants handle their wastewater.
First, tell us how you handled it. To achieve so-called zero emissions, relevant auxiliary treatment facilities such as electrodialysis, RO membranes, and resins are necessary; otherwise, the ion concentration in the water will continue to rise, making it difficult to maintain balance and preventing the water from being reused. Zero emissions is a misconception, a term invented by some people, and should not be believed.
This is not some so-called zero-emission scenario; it’s real. The relevant treatment equipment simply includes an additional cooling tower. Of course, it’s also necessary to work in conjunction with the phosphoric acid production unit – part of the circulating water from the ammonium phosphate production unit can be diverted to that unit for use as washing water. As long as the phosphoric acid production unit operates normally, the excess wastewater can be handled, so there’s no issue as you mentioned.
