Rainwater and surface runoff flow into the tank and are discharged using submersible pumps that reach a depth of 3.5 meters, with a flow rate of over thousands of m³/h. If there is a leak, the pool water becomes acidic. Discharge is considered only when the tank is full; the design institute recommends using stainless steel, but it’s too expensive. I want to use a fluoroplastic pump, but the pump shaft is too long; its strength might not be sufficient. Moreover, there are no pumps with such a high flow rate available. I would appreciate it if experts could advise me on what materials would be suitable. Thank you!
A self-priming pump can be considered. Still, attention should be paid to the material.
In this case, if the traffic requirements must be met, none of the above solutions will work! Because neither self-priming pumps nor fluoroplastic pumps can achieve such a high flow rate! Only vertical mixed-flow pumps can be used; the specific material depends on how acidic the medium is! Using a shaft connection can meet the requirements for submergence depth! I have done one at a submergence depth of 6m; there’s no problem with yours! :)
I think the 5th floor would work fine. After all, since the water consumption is high, your company must be quite large – so why not use stainless steel? It would make maintenance much easier
I think it’s better to choose stainless steel; don’t save money at the expense of facing bigger problems later on.
Thank you all for your suggestions; I’ve learned a great deal from them. For reasons related to reliability and other factors, we have decided to use stainless steel pumps with a shaft coupling method.
A ground-level self-priming pump will suffice. Rainwater is not used very often, so carbon steel is adequate.
