Are the diesel extraction techniques mentioned on various startup websites genuine?

Recently, I’ve seen on various startup websites information about techniques for refining diesel. I’m quite interested in this, but I can’t yet confirm whether such techniques actually exist or not, or whether people really do teach them. I hope those who know something about this can let me know: handshake
Maybe my views are too extreme; most of the information on websites focused on entrepreneurship can’t be trusted. Things like producing oil from straw are not practical at the moment...
