I would like to ask everyone: how should the outlet for extracting naphthalene from the side stream be determined? Should it be based on calculations or on empirical methods? I saw discussions by experts on the forum saying that it’s hardly used these days, but the client wants a side port for naphthalene extraction; we only know it should be above the feed location, but we’re not sure exactly which layer it should be placed on. In the middle section of the debenzene tower, the naphthalene content in the extracted naphthalene oil is over 50%.
Why at this temperature? Based on the boiling point, right? The boiling point of naphthalene is 218
