Help: handshake. During the desulfurization of sulfur-containing gases using MDEA as a solvent, if ammonia is present in the mixture, will ammonia react with methyldiethanolamine? If so, what is the reaction equation?

Gases containing ammonia should first be washed with water and then desulfurized, to prevent the formation of ammonia hydrosulfide crystals from clogging the trays.
Ammonia should not make its way into the absorption tower. If there is unreacted ammonia, it should deactivate the catalyst in the Claus reactor, where it gets \"destroyed.\" Is that correct? :handshake :handshake
Ammonia introduced into the solvent should first react with hydrogen sulfide to form ammonium sulfide, which is then decomposed into hydrogen sulfide and ammonia upon heating in the regeneration tower; this has little impact on MDEA.
It has little impact on MDEA; however, once thiamine salts are formed, they accumulate within the system or settle in areas of the equipment and pipes where flow is low. Over time, this leads to electrochemical corrosion, and eventually the entire system will start leaking everywhere, becoming uncontrollable. It cannot be resolved through process adjustments; I recommend stirring the system solution, improving waste filtration, adding more replacement points, and reducing dead zone areas. Replace the material where necessary. Don’t worry; the situation isn’t that serious. The new system will have a stable period of about 4 to 6 years, and it’s unlikely to remain problem-free for ten years.
