Today, while adding lubricant to the bearing housing of the pump, there was no change in the level indicated by the viewing window in the housing. After turning the vehicle around, the liquid level of the lubricant in the viewing window increased a bit. What is the reason for this? (The pump is a cantilevered horizontal centrifugal pump.) )
During the cranking process, the lubricating oil is distributed evenly throughout the pump chamber along with the rotating components, forming an oil film within those components (such as bearings) to ensure their lubrication and reduce friction!
What was said upstairs is correct. As for the increase in oil level, it probably has nothing to do with the turning of the shaft; it’s likely due to oil droplets falling from the walls of the bearing box. This phenomenon tends to occur more often with lubricants that have a high viscosity
It might be due to too low a temperature, an incorrect grade of lubricant, excessive viscosity, which reduces the fluidity of the lubricant
Most ordinary pump motors use 46# oil, which does not have such a high viscosity. An increase in oil level should have little to do with turning the shaft. Are you also using a constant-level oil cup?
It does matter a bit~~ Think about it; the oil level should be one-third of the bearing’s height~~ It’s not too much nor too little~~ but it’s not very obvious
