Is it cost-effective to build a dry gas receiver after reducing energy consumption and eliminating flares? Our factory has a catalytic capacity of 70,000 tons.
It’s a waste to burn off flare gas; it should be stored, as quantity accumulates over time. The main costs involve the construction of dry gas storage tanks, including the land required for such construction, civil engineering work, and the procurement of equipment and systems. It is recommended to prepare a feasibility study.
It mainly depends on the amount of gas that can be recovered. Generally, the cost of installing a gas holder is considerable; it is necessary to engage relevant design firms to carry out the necessary feasibility studies. If the payback period is too long, then there is no need to proceed with its installation. But you can use high-pressure gas to consume part of the pyrolysis gas in the boiler; this requires only a few horizontal tanks, is inexpensive, and yields quick results.
The unit is too small; I’m afraid it’s not necessary to build a gas holder.
