Acceptance of paint film thickness on pressure vessels: like: The process requires that the dry film thickness of the paint is 200 microns. What is the appropriate range of actual paint thickness? Are there any relevant standards? ? Thanks
There seems to be no relevant standard. Different paints are different. You can calculate the approximate amount (amount of paint per square meter), and then do a test verification (using an ultrasonic thickness gauge)
The minimum thickness is determined according to two 85% or 90%. That is, the minimum thickness should not be less than 85% or 90% of the requirement, that is, not less than 170 or 180 microns. ； In all test data, it must be ensured that 85% or more of the thickness values are not less than 200 microns. Maximum thickness, not many people will make it too thick, too thick is not good either. The requirement is 200, no more than 300 should be fine.
