I plan to change the heating method for the device to water heating; I’m not sure how to do it Could it be modified as follows: 1. Directly change the air intake distribution station to a hot water inlet station, and change the return water station to a hot water return station. 2. The steam tracing pipeline is DN20; I wonder if there is any problem with that? 3. What should the main diameter be? Could there be issues such as insufficient traffic or short circuits? I’m reaching out to colleagues who work on hot water heating systems for some help!
1. Directly change the air intake distribution station to a hot water intake station, and change the return water station to a hot water return station. The diameter and number of heat tracing pipes must be determined based on the diameter of the pipe being traced and the temperature of the medium inside it. In general, steam-based heat tracing can maintain the operating temperature of the medium being traced; however, if the heating medium is changed from steam to hot water, it will no longer be possible to maintain that operating temperature. It can also be said that the pipes in a hot water distribution station should be thicker than those in a steam distribution station. 2. The steam tracing pipeline is DN20; I wonder if there is any problem with that? The diameter of the steam tracing pipe should be determined based on the temperature of the medium being traced, as well as the diameter of the pipe itself; the number of such pipes is also determined accordingly. 3. What should the main diameter be? Could there be issues such as insufficient traffic or short circuits? The diameter of the main pipe should be determined based on actual requirements such as the length of the heat tracing pipeline and the number of such pipelines; it cannot be simply decided by specifying a certain diameter. If there are many pipelines that require heating, choosing a too small main diameter will result in insufficient flow. If the routing of the accompanying piping is unreasonable, short-circuit problems may occur. The steam piping enters from the top and exits from the bottom, while the hot water piping enters from the bottom and exits from the top; the layout of the pipelines is reasonable, so there will be no short-circuit issues.
It is best not to make such changes directly; the pipe diameter is too small, and at temperatures of 90 or 180 degrees Celsius, the bends created by gas welding are prone to freezing. It is better to use a backpressure-free buffer tank for centralized water delivery
The biggest difference between steam tracing and hot water tracing is that the steam tracing circuit includes a drain valve; therefore, before switching to hot water tracing, the drain valve and its flanges must be removed. Our device was modified in this way last year. Six In charge of is thick enough.
In fact, for most media that require heating, the required heating temperature is not very high. For example, heat transfer oil is used at temperatures above 300 degrees, and heating is needed only to prevent it from solidifying when it is not in use; generally, 20 degrees is sufficient. (Hehe, I mentioned heat transfer oil just as an example – given its high temperature, it cannot be heated using water, nor is electric heating suitable for it.) If the main pipeline is well insulated, then heating with water at 60 degrees is sufficient. The question is: how far does the hot water travel before returning to the cold water main? The difference between water and steam lies in their heat capacity; if this value is low, the temperature drops rapidly to an unusable level, and relying on flow rate to compensate is not very economical. One idea is that the temperature of the cooling water in the system (or the water returning from the cooler before entering the main pipeline) is generally around 30 degrees, and the flow rate generated is sufficient; this water also spreads widely throughout the system, allowing it to be utilized in some remote areas, such as in corners where it’s difficult to supply cold water or hot water, or for use with certain instruments
If permitted, it can be replaced with electric heat tracing – it’s easy to operate, reduces labor and costs, and also has a longer lifespan~~
