The world is actually very simple; it’s just that human hearts are complex. There is a pile of apples on the table; people don’t care about how many apples there are in total, but rather how many they get to keep for themselves. There are a bunch of tasks at the workplace; people don’t care about how many there are, but rather about how much more they can accomplish. The relationships between people are simple; it is the complexity of interest distribution that leads to deceit and scheming. The complex world is actually quite simple; it is because of human emotions’ complexity that there are tales of love and hatred, as well as separations and reunions. The simplicity of life is like a few strokes in the long scroll of existence, characterized by a sparse and uncluttered simplicity ; It is a thin moon in the realm of life, exuding a cool and serene tranquility. The complexity of life is like the ink spilled on the paper of existence, coloring it with cunning and worldly wisdom ; It is the murmuring sound of the lute that echoes deep within life, unable to dispel the noise and confusion. There is great beauty in the world, to be found in simplicity ; There is great exhaustion in life, hidden in the complexities. There is often great charm in life; it must be because one leads a simple life ; To experience great joy in life, one’s mind must be pure and free from complexity. People are happy when things are simple, but few people are truly happy ; Complexity brings pain, yet those in pain are everywhere. What this reflects as a reality is that it is not easy for more people to lead a simple life, while it is quite simple to lead a complex one. This world is filled with adjustments and distributions of interests every day. Humans are influenced and controlled by various complex emotions every day. With the progress of technology to date, we can use it to do almost anything – for example, we can land on the Moon with precision and predict the weather for an entire week with accuracy – yet we are unable to know what mood we will be in in the next moment. After all, technology governs the objective, the rational ; Yet humans are subjective, emotional animals. Subjectivity and sensibility are the most difficult to grasp and control. It seems simple at first glance, as if it can be seen in its entirety at a glance. A hundred-year-old well – deep, clear, and allowing one to see to the bottom; yet this ancient well is not simple at all. The same is true for people. Sometimes, a person can see through things at a glance, not because they are too simple or lacking in depth, but because they are too pure. A person with a purely pure soul is, in itself, something profoundly moving. Such simplicity is admirable. Some appear complex and profound, shrouded in mist and clouds. In fact, this kind of depth is the depth of cunning, not the depth of the soul. This complexity is the interweaving of wicked human nature, rather than the accumulation of exquisite wisdom. In the end, life is simply reduced to two words: life and death. Yet, due to the ups and downs of fate and the vicissitudes of human life, this simple process becomes full of twists and turns and complex. Simpleness is the beautiful gesture that life leaves to this world ; And complexity is the desolate dream that life can never retrieve
Life is simple; just live each day to the best of your ability.
It is technology and industrial civilization that have made people’s lives more complex.
