I am a recent graduate with a degree in chemical engineering machinery. I have two options right now: one is to work for a state-owned enterprise, handling technical tasks related to equipment, and the other is to work in a private company that acts as an agent for high-end foreign brands, in a sales role. I’m not sure which one to choose – could everyone give me some advice? This post was last edited by bevan on 2009-4-8 at 14:48
:Does L really think that way upstairs? . . . I suggest working for a state-owned enterprise, where you can gain experience through design work and gradually make progress in your career; or you could later switch to a engineering company or something similar. It is highly not recommended to work as a salesperson in a private company. Firstly, sales is a slow-paced job that is very exhausting and harmful to one’s health. Secondly, given the unstable economic situation at present, it is even harder to work as a salesperson. :loveliness: No matter which one you choose, wish you success!~
It depends on personal preference; risk and profit are directly proportional
Go to private enterprises. Private enterprises are better at shaping people, and the salaries there are also higher.
If you are good at communicating and have enough energy and enthusiasm, go into sales. Otherwise, focus on technology
It depends on your personality...
I actually tend to prefer working in private companies; I feel that there’s no future in state-owned enterprises. Has anyone worked in equipment sales for private companies? Please share your experiences. Thank you~
