Why can’t a regular diaphragm pump be used for slurry pumps?

Currently, the commonly used pumps are Perrot’s diaphragm pumps or Chiho’s diaphragm pumps. Can other diaphragm pumps not meet the requirements? Those who are aware, can we talk about it? Is it a patent for a hose diaphragm-type Ferroli?

For our low-pressure coal slurry pumps, we chose a manufacturer based in the south of the country, but there were too many problems – the diaphragm lasted only 20 days, and the seat rings of the check valves were made of rubber, which cracked multiple times as a result, preventing the high-pressure coal slurry pumps from functioning properly.
Actually, there’s nothing serious; it’s mainly a quality issue. The reason why Chi Hao and Fei Luwa are chosen is that these two companies were the first to enter this field, have extensive experience, and their products have proven to be of high quality. The slurry pump is a rather important piece of equipment, and generally manufacturers do not dare to take the risk of using diaphragm pumps for which they are not confident; therefore, it seems that diaphragm pumps from these two companies are the best options. In fact, domestic manufacturers such as Shenyang Pump Factory and Shanghai Dalong are also trying this out, and some bold manufacturers are already using the products from these two companies. Once practical use proves their effectiveness, diaphragm pumps will become more diverse in options.
