In my company, the gasket in the air chamber of the self-acting pressure relief valve for the steam pipeline, which operates at 300 degrees Celsius and 4 kilograms of pressure, has broken down; therefore, a replacement gasket is needed. Given the high frequency of such damage, what material would make for a durable gasket? ?

Can the temperature reach 300°C at a pressure of 4 kilograms? If it really has to reach 300°C, rubber gaskets are hardly effective in solving the problem, but they can still hold up for a month or so for short-term use. Regarding materials, steam-resistant silicone rubber or fluororubber can be used. Of course, if it is to be used for a long time in a steam environment at 300°C, DuPont’s perfluoroether rubber can be employed. It’s just that the cost is very high. If it’s affordable, you can consider it.
