There should be a interlock mechanism; it is not safe to allow the pressure difference to fall below a certain value, as otherwise high-pressure nitrogen will not be able to enter after the system is shut down, and the consequences can be severe.
It is mainly used to ensure purging of the gasification furnace after parking, serving a safety purpose! ~
The pressure difference between the combustion chamber pressure in the gasifier and the high-pressure nitrogen is quite important; in some plants, this value triggers an interlocked shutdown (while in most plants it does not). In systems with interlocked shutdown, the shutdown is triggered when the pressure of high-pressure nitrogen is less than 2.0 MPa compared to the pressure in the combustion chamber of the gasifier. At this point, if the gasifier stops operating, the high-pressure nitrogen purging valve can still be opened for purging, and the process proceeds normally ; Generally, if the pressure of the high-pressure nitrogen is lower than 0.5 MPa compared to the pressure in the combustion chamber of the gasification furnace, the high-pressure nitrogen purging valve will not open. In other words, if the gasification furnace stops operating at this time, it is not possible to use high-pressure nitrogen for purging the oxygen and slurry pipelines, nor can the nitrogen-sealing oxygen valve be opened. This can create security risks for the system; therefore, attention should be paid to the pressure of high-pressure nitrogen, and there should be at least two nitrogen generators.
High-pressure nitrogen is mainly used for purging, sealing, transportation, etc. A low pressure level can be dangerous, and it is necessary to shut down the system in such cases
Nitrogen and system pressure difference should not trigger a cascading shutdown; the key is to find ways to ensure that the pressure difference remains sufficient.
Since everyone has already said it, I won’t repeat myself. The main thing is to ensure that during parking and purging, N1 can be blown into the furnace! If the pressure difference is low, the purge valve cannot be opened!
