How to create a graph showing the relationship between the feed section position and the reflux ratio?
It seems like the explanation isn’t clear; please explain in detail. There doesn’t seem to be any inevitable connection between these two, or is it only under the consideration of other factors?
Could someone upstairs teach me how to simulate and optimize a distillation column? I have already created a graph showing the relationship between the reflux ratio and the number of trays. What else needs to be done to determine the reflux ratio, the number of trays, and the location of the feed tray?
The number of plates can be initially determined based on the desired degree of separation between the light and heavy components. The reflux ratio is first set according to the process requirements, and then the optimal reflux ratio can be found using the “Set Special Values” and “Variables” functions in RadFrac; flexibility is required in carrying out these operations. I carried out a simple optimization, and the results were satisfactory. The relevant methods are described in

Another example is the setting of initial values; there are specific considerations for convergence methods, and it’s necessary to analyze each case individually. The simplest, yet also most troublesome, approach is to try things out based on experience, using simulation results to illustrate the situation. I think this is precisely the purpose of simulation. There’s no real need to provide too many theoretical explanations for the principles behind simulation, as its role is to lay a foundation for practical work, and its results often differ significantly from those in reality
Thank you. I thought I could calculate it using dstwu
