As a commonly used chemical raw material, hydrogen bromide has wide applications in many fields. However, since it is a gas at normal temperature and pressure, its difficulty in transportation and storage limits the development of many fine chemicals that require small quantities of this substance. The current main methods for using hydrogen bromide include: the synthesis of hydrogen bromide, the utilization of by-produced hydrogen bromide, and the extraction using hydrogen bromide-acetic acid solutions. Each of the above methods has its advantages and disadvantages; the synthesis of hydrogen bromide is not suitable for devices with small capacities, as the quality of the hydrogen bromide produced is limited, and the separation of hydrogen bromide from acetic acid solutions is rather complicated. The technology for liquefying hydrogen bromide is fairly mature in China. At present, due to the undeveloped market, the costs are high; however, as the market for hydrogen bromide expands, there is significant room for cost reduction. The market for bottled hydrogen bromide will gradually expand.
