Although it’s not for producing synthetic ammonia, boiler operation and steam system operation are similar. I’d like to share some insights: Before starting up, it’s important to ensure that there is enough steam available, and that the venting valves are open to an appropriate degree. When the unit is under load, the venting valves should be closed gradually while adjusting the pressure, and at the same time the boiler’s operation should be adjusted as well; this approach generally avoids problems.
The system is required to be stable, meeting minimum requirements. After all, the load that can be handled by the auxiliary boiler is limited; it relies mainly on the system to maintain operations. In extremely severe conditions, the only option is to request the production scheduler to reduce output or shut down operations.
