I’m currently working on my graduation project, and I have chosen the medium-low-low process, which involves two stages of medium-pressure conversion and two stages of low-pressure conversion. I know how to select the catalysts, but I’m not sure how to determine the temperatures for each stage, nor how to determine the water-vapor ratio. Is it true that the conversion rate for each stage needs to be assumed first? I know the conversion rate for the medium-pressure conversion stage as well as the final overall conversion rate; it’s just the intermediate values that I don’t know. Does anyone know how to determine these values? Please help me out. Thank you
The calculations related to the processes and equipment for shift systems are described in detail in the \"Process Technology and Design Manual for Small Ammonia Plants.\" Refering to this manual should help resolve the issues. There aren’t many people here who specialize in shift system design, so it may not be possible to get clear explanations just by looking at it; it’s better to think about it on your own.
