Colleagues, please share how your process improvements or updates are integrated with the R&D department Our company has established grassroots R&D personnel who are under the management of the workshops. What’s your opinion on this phenomenon? How do you think we can maintain the advancement of production processes?
It is also beneficial to have this under the responsibility of the workshop, as the workshop has a good understanding of the problems that arise during production, as well as of what needs to be changed or can be changed. In our factory, to address these issues, we ask the workshops to come up with various rationalization suggestions regarding areas such as processes and equipment that are not optimal. Once these suggestions are submitted, they are first reviewed by the workshop technicians before being forwarded to the factory’s technical department for further evaluation; if deemed reasonable, improvements are made.
How to maintain the advancement of production processes? ⒈The operators submit suggestions based on changes in the materials, while the workshop technicians collect and organize these suggestions to present corrective actions to the higher-level departments for implementation ； ⒉The workshop technicians put forward improvement suggestions for rectification, based on the operating conditions of similar systems and the characteristics of this device’s operation ； ⒊The responsible department makes sure to collect valuable technical information from both domestic and international sources, seeks advice and conducts discussions with design and research institutions, and formulates sound recommendations for improving the equipment.
The department responsible for improving process technologies should be the Technical Department of the head factory: 1. Workshop technicians submit suggestions based on changes in the operation of the equipment, and collect and organize relevant data to put forward recommendations and plans for improvement to higher-level departments； ⒉The Technical Department of the head factory determines the rectification plan based on the operational conditions of competitors and the characteristics of the plant’s operation ； 3. The workshop technicians carry out the rectifications in accordance with the plan, and report the status after the rectifications to the superior authorities.
Personal opinion: Improvements in process technology should be handled by the technical department of the head factory. Process technology improvements often involve a wide range of aspects and should be considered in an overall context. Agree with the person above.
Here, it is mainly the workshop technicians who work together with the production department staff to make improvements.
I don’t think it’s the most important to determine who will be in charge of management; what’s crucial is that technical improvements should be based on practical considerations, with the goal of meeting production needs and addressing technical issues or challenges. Therefore, after a preliminary plan is developed, opinions and suggestions from the workers on the ground should be sought, so that a comprehensive technical overhaul can be carried out, which will naturally make the plan more reasonable and practical.
It is good to have R&D personnel in the workshop, as this facilitates better communication between the production floor and the technical department. It seems that there are differences in the way the production floor and the technical department view things. This setup helps the technical department to obtain first-hand information from the production site. After all, people tend to seek common ground. It also enables new technologies, production improvement plans, and adjustment measures to be implemented more effectively on the production floor
