The granulation tower project was originally scheduled to be completed by June 30, 2009; the civil engineering work was finished on March 12, ahead of the original schedule. Subsequent work will be carried out during the installation of other equipment in the ammonia synthesis plant and the urea plant. Therefore, resuming work on this section of the project after the accident investigation team issues its report will not have a negative impact on the overall progress of the Second Chemicals Project. At present, the company’s production and operations are operating normally. It is reported that on March 23, 2009, part of the temporary construction platform used by the construction company China Third Chemical Construction Engineering Company collapsed, resulting in 12 deaths and 2 injuries. Construction of the second large-scale fertilizer project at Jianfeng Chemical has been suspended in accordance with the requirements of the accident investigation team.
