I am a graduate of the class of 2008, and I currently work at a South Korean-owned chemical company. It’s been almost a year now, but it seems I’m still hesitating in my decision-making, with my mind in a state of uncertainty. It is said that to succeed in the chemical industry, one needs a steady and calm mindset, and to build success step by step; in other words, the older one gets, the more valuable they become. But sometimes I feel resentful – in this dull and monotonous chemical industry, it’s only in old age that one might gain expertise; so what’s the point? It’s better to pursue other industries that are more flexible and more profitable. But now I can’t find a way, so I’m confused. I earnestly request the guidance of my seniors. Thank you so much!
It also depends on what you do specifically. Personally, I think that every industry has its own opportunities for growth; if you keep thinking in that way, you won’t be able to achieve stability. If you really don’t like your current job, then you might consider changing jobs and changing your environment. I graduated in 2008 too, hehe; we’re from the same class

Learn more practical skills; that way it’s easier to change jobs and your salary will increase faster!
Work diligently and steadily – good job! But you could also learn from that guy in the United States: planning to try doing all kinds of jobs over the course of a few years is also a great idea
“What industries are meant by “other more flexible and profitable industries”? I think if you entered these industries, you might have other thoughts, such as feeling that the work is unstable or exhausting, and so on. Each has its advantages; one gains something while losing something else in return.
