With a single power source, the skin effect electric heating system can provide heating over a distance of more than 20 km. Everyone says this, but I’ve never seen any theoretical explanation for why it’s not 15 km or 10 km. Compared to the use of traditional resistive heating materials in long-distance pipelines, the skin effect primarily reduces the need for large-scale power supply and distribution systems. A single power source is sufficient to provide heat tracing for pipelines up to 25 kilometers long. The system generates heat within the \"heat pipes,\" with heat being produced as a result of resistance generated when electric current flows back along the inner surface of these heat pipes; there is no voltage or current on the outer surface of the heat pipes. “Half of the outer surface of a \"heat pipe\" is protected by a dielectric insulating layer and a wear-resistant protective coating. Generally, galvanized (or tinned) copper wires covered with polyolefin are used; in situations where both freeze protection and high-temperature resistance are required, a fluoropolymer coating can be chosen, as such materials offer better high-temperature performance, as well as greater flexibility and durability. :)
