When shutting down the wash tower for maintenance in low-temperature methanol washing, access is required from the inlet; what should be done with the methanol on the floating valve trays?
After diluting with water, drain it; it would be best if it can be recovered
Release it first; when it’s really impossible to release it, use N2 for purging. Under no circumstances should anyone enter while the methanol has not been completely removed, as this is very dangerous, as methanol is harmful to the human body
After draining the liquid, you should add water and use circulation flushing for replacement, and then open a manhole for flushing. During maintenance, try to open only one manhole to prevent too much air from entering.
Wash it, isolate it, then pour fire-fighting water from the top of the tower; the control room monitors the pressure difference in the tower. After it’s filled, leave it to soak for one night before draining the water, and then pour water in again – two or three times should be sufficient
