An 8-character blind flange is a piping component with one half being a blind flange and the other half having an opening. It is commonly used for pipeline flanges where it is necessary to modify the flow process. The blind plate is used when a blind cut is required, while the side with an opening is used when it is necessary to restore the flow. The materials available are mainly carbon steel and stainless steel, and the choice can be made based on the pipeline’s pressure rating and the medium flowing through it. Blind plates are mainly used for isolation; for example, during partial pressure testing, it is necessary to separate the section under test from the sections that are not under test.
