Are the parameters provided internally by the Aspen software accurate?

Most physical property parameters are obtained through simulation calculations; they are not necessarily measured directly. However, over the course of several decades of development and continuous improvements, the process simulation software has enabled the calculation of values that may not represent the true values. Yet their accuracy is sufficient to meet practical needs. The selection of thermodynamic models is therefore very important. Not only process simulation software like ASPEN, but many of the formulas in chemical engineering principles are also empirical formulas; the calculations carried out in these principles do not always reflect actual values. The traditional method of using charts to look up property parameters is likewise based on simulation or fitting. It’s not strange at all. Therefore, software such as ASPEN and PRO II are not merely conversions of basic chemical engineering principles; they represent new disciplines established on new theoretical methods.
