It depends on whether the ball valve you choose has one-way sealing or two-way sealing. There is a difference between the two. It doesn't matter when the valve is fully open, but it is different when it is closed. If the one-way sealing ball valve is installed in the wrong direction, it may not be able to seal.
There is no problem with the direction of the ball valve, it is the same forward and backward.
Ball valves are installed regardless of direction. If there are requirements for the installation direction, there will be an arrow on the valve body to indicate the flow direction.
Our factory uses double-seal ball valves, but there are crystals in the medium used, causing serious damage to the valves. Although both ends are sealed, there is no difference between the two ends.
Some ball valves have front seals and rear seals. Generally, such ball valves are marked with arrows. Ball valves without special markings and instructions are not oriented. The installation of non-labeled directional valves should be considered on a case-by-case basis. It is advisable to consider the location of the driving head or the operator's operating direction for convenience. It is advisable to consider that the installation direction of the entire process is unified. For example, the labels on the valves all face one direction. etc.
Generally, there is no installation direction requirement for ball valves. If there is, it will be marked on the valve body.
If it is worn, a hard-sealed ball valve should be used. If the crystallization is very serious and the flow rate is fast, it needs to be sprayed with tungsten carbide or other carbide. Is your valve leaking internally? It has nothing to do with single and double seals, but everything to do with the sealing and material of the valve.
When installing, check the markings on the valve body! For specific information, you can ask the material control and crafts people!
The ball valves and butterfly valves I use here have no direction. If there is a direction, there will be instructions on the valve body.
