In my opinion, hot fitting is necessary when the interference between the bearing and the shaft is large. When performing hot fitting, the heating temperature is generally determined based on the measured level of interference, and the bearing is heated using oil. The shaft can also be cooled with liquid nitrogen before installing the bearing, but this is rarely used.
The inner bore of rolling bearings follows the base hole system, and the fit between the shaft of many centrifugal pumps and the bearings is a slightly tight transition fit. To facilitate assembly, it is common practice to heat the bearings before fitting them in.
In most centrifugal pumps, the rolling bearings are in a transitional fit with the shaft; hot fitting is preferable and is also quite common. For most ancient capitals, hot mounting is required; this is also a requirement of most bearing manufacturers, and it represents a fairly common method of installation.
