Selection of material for the distillation column

Currently, for the material used in the distillation columns used in tar processing, 304 is generally chosen for the lower section while 316L is used for the upper section. With the introduction of foreign manufacturing processes, some new materials are also being utilized, such as Hastelloy C-276. We would appreciate everyone’s opinions on this.
There is more 316L in domestic processes
In domestic distillation towers, 316L is generally used as the material; the internals for the tar distillation tower are in batches of DN1800, made of 316L
In China, most designs use 316L material; at present, only the fractionation tower in Shandong JFE’s tar processing plant uses H-276 in its middle section. Using high-nickel materials to combat corrosion is a good option, but it comes at a high cost. Another method to deal with corrosion is to change the processing technique, which can also effectively reduce corrosion.
