Are the valve positioners in use these days usually electric-pneumatic valve positioners or intelligent positioners? Are separate pneumatic valve positioners, or electric-pneumatic conversion units combined with pneumatic valve positioners, used only rarely?
It should be like that! In our factory, we use the former approach, that is, electric-pneumatic valve positioners or intelligent positioners.
Not necessarily. Electrical converters + pneumatic positioners are generally used in applications with high explosion-proof requirements. For example, high temperatures, oil systems, and so on. Our factory’s compressor units all use pneumatic positioners ; For high and medium pressure steam pressure and temperature control valves, electrical converters plus pneumatic positioners are used.
