Since I am not a professional in this field, I would like to urgently consult those who are experts. For a stainless steel reactor with a capacity of 500 liters, using electrically heated heat transfer oil at 200 degrees Celsius under normal pressure, what are the potential problems and risks, as well as any special considerations when operating it on a 24-hour continuous basis? Please give me some advice! ! I am extremely grateful, thank you! ! !
Our company uses electrically heated heat transfer oil at 200-250 degrees. The reaction vessel is a 1000L stainless steel magnetic-sealed reactor that operates 24/7. Judging from its current operation, no major problems have occurred. 1. Ensure that the temperature required by the process does not exceed the maximum operating temperature of the selected heat transfer oil. 2. Check the pressure drop across the filter; clean or replace the filter element as needed. 3. Start the circulation pump before heating, and stop it only after the hot oil’s temperature drops below 80°C. 4. Test the heat transfer oil regularly to assess its quality; this should be done every six months roughly, and the oil needs to be replaced if its quality deteriorates. 5. Pressure gauges can be installed at the inlet and outlet of the reaction tank to monitor the oil pressure. If there are any other questions, other experts can add to this response; I don’t know much about it
The electrically heated heat transfer oil heaters of the Dyx-y series are divided into regular types and explosion-proof types depending on the location of use. They use heat transfer oil as the heat transfer medium for heating, and a hot oil pump is employed to ensure forced circulation. Operating at a pressure of ≤0.5 Mpa, they provide a continuous and stable high-temperature heat source (up to ≤320°C), with a temperature control accuracy of ±1°C and a thermal efficiency of over 95%. It can be installed near thermal equipment, featuring high thermal efficiency; it automatically controls the transfer of thermal energy via liquid phase after a temperature setting is specified. At temperatures below 300°C, the saturation vapor pressure of the heat carrier is 70-80 times lower than that of water. No separate boiler room is required; it features low pressure, high temperature, safety, efficiency, no pollution, and easy operation.
1. The effectiveness of automatic control for electric heating is crucial to prevent temperature from getting out of control. 2. The quality of the heat transfer oil is important; it should not cause issues such as coking or scaling that could affect heat transfer along the tank walls. 3. In areas prone to explosions, explosion-proof electric heating connectors should be used
The installation of the heating system must be carried out strictly in accordance with the requirements; Ensure the circulation pump is operating properly during heating ; The temperature control system should be sound; it is advisable to have an automatic temperature control device ; The operator conducts regular inspections and makes records.
With such high temperatures, why not heat it directly?»
Ensure normal circulation, prevent overheating, and maintain a stable and even temperature
May I ask if it can be changed to steam heating?
