Does anyone know about MDT software? It’s also from Atuodesk; how many people are still using this drawing software? Last edited by helene on 2009-4-13 09:08]
I used to rely mainly on MDT 6 for (3D) mechanical design, as it was also convenient and fast for creating 2D drawings. This time, I wanted to upgrade to MDT2009, only to find out later that MDT 6 is Autodesk Mechanical, while MDT2009 is AutoCAD Mechanical – the two are not the same thing. MDT 6 is a 3D CAD version for mechanical design, while MDT2009 is a 2D CAD version with almost no 3D capabilities. Is the above understanding incorrect? Additionally, MDT2009 has high requirements for the hardware; it does not run smoothly on machines with low specifications, which is also why people are reluctant to install AIP2009. Since design work is hardly done these days, it’s impossible for the machines in the office to have high specifications. It seems that installing AIP2009 is still some time away.

I haven’t heard of it; I use CAD 2006 for 2D work. For 3D modeling, I first used ProE, but later I found that SolidWorks was easier to use and more convenient.
It seems like many people use ProE these days?

I don’t understand; come and learn it*, study it seriously*.
I’ve used it, and it’s great, especially for sketch-based design
