The classification of areas where hot work is permitted and the authorities responsible for approval are specified as follows: 1. Areas where hot work is allowed are classified into three categories: Category 1 areas for hot work, Category 2 areas for hot work, and fixed areas for hot work. 2. In gas production, synthesis, carbonization, and power generation facilities, the area within 10 meters around flammable and explosive equipment and pipelines is considered a Class 1 hot work zone. Hazardous material storage areas, gas stations, and the area within 10 meters around them are also classified as Class 1 hot work zones. Hot work in these areas must be approved by the safety supervisor of the department where the work is being carried out; hot work shall not be performed under any circumstances without an approved hot work permit. 3. The areas within the repair shop yards of each workshop (excluding the workrooms and the areas around flammable and explosive equipment and pipelines) are designated as fixed hot-work areas. 4. Areas designated as fire-prohibited zones outside the fixed hot work areas and Class 1 hot work areas are classified as Class 2 hot work areas. All hot work in these Class 2 areas must be approved by the company’s safety department; without such approval, no hot work shall be carried out under any circumstances. 5. For operations involving special hazards in various hot work areas, the approval authority lies with the company’s safety department (hot work carried out without depressurization, on flammable and explosive containers or reaction towers/tanks, as well as around oil tanks/barrels containing volatile flammable and explosive substances are considered special types of hot work, and such operations require approval from the deputy general manager in charge or the chief engineer).

Safety work permits are required for tasks such as hot work, working at heights, earthwork, work in confined spaces, and electrical safety work, among others

**In 2008, the State Administration of Work Safety revised 81 safety standards, including 8 regulations specific to chemical enterprises. We adhere strictly to these standards; however, as we are an older enterprise, the required safety distances cannot be met in some areas. At present, there are no designated areas for performing hot work within our production site, so special procedures as well as those for category 1 and 2 hot work must be followed.
