There are currently eight S3-700 PLC cabinets, each equipped with one output module, 5 input modules, 35 safety barriers, and one 630VA transformer. The total circuit breaker rating for the entire system is 40A. Is this insufficient? What size circuit breaker is required?
What is the power rating of a 630VA transformer? Does every cabinet have one of these? It’s that 40A bar. It’s best to calculate the power consumption of all the equipment in the cabinets, and then select a circuit breaker with a capacity that is about 20% higher than that value.
