Electricity, utensils (tools, appliances, household items). Facilities in the bedroom: bed linen, bed covers, pillows, mattresses, sheets, blankets, cushions. Enrollment: the process of registering for classes. Elective courses: courses that students can choose to take. Required courses: courses that students must take. Course arrangement: the planning of courses. Application form: a form used to apply for enrollment. Letter of recommendation: a letter written to support someone’s application. Programme/Program: the overall set of courses for a particular field of study. School: an institution of higher education. Graduate school: a school for postgraduate studies. Undergraduate: students at the undergraduate level. Postgraduate: students at the graduate level. School of Arts and Sciences: a faculty dedicated to arts and sciences. Score: grades obtained by students. Credit: units of credit earned by students. Degrees: academic qualifications awarded to students. Assessment: evaluation of students’ academic performance. Handout: printed materials distributed by teachers during class. Assignment: tasks given to students to complete. Presentation: a presentation on a specific topic. Project: a task that requires students to conduct independent research. Paper/Thesis/Dissertation: academic papers, master’s theses, or doctoral dissertations. Essay: a short written piece. Journal: weekly assignments or tasks. Participation: attendance in classes. Lecture: a lecture given by a teacher. Tutorial: guidance provided by a teaching assistant. TA (Teaching Assistant): a person who assists teachers in their work. Office hour: time when professors are available to meet with students. Coordinator: a person responsible for coordinating courses
