An organic intermediate we are working on has a high boiling point and is heat-sensitive, so it is not suitable for refining by distillation. The material is slightly soluble in water, and the moisture content is about 2%. Now we want to further dehydrate the trace moisture in the material to make the moisture content less than 0.5%. How big is the poster’s small workshop? What you make is so complicated! Since the boiling points are so different and they are heat-sensitive substances, there is no need for distillation at all. Direct vacuum distillation and pumping out the water. It is estimated that controlling the material to 50°C can reduce the moisture to less than 0.5wt%.
Whether your material is solid or liquid needs to be more detailed, but generally this is handled by vacuum.
If your material does not react with calcium chloride, try anhydrous calcium chloride
Try it with some desiccant! Calcium chloride, concentrated sulfuric acid, etc. adsorption and dehydration! Just say it casually, it’s not professional!
Vacuum drying method can be used, and silica gel adsorption can be added to the vacuum drying box, which should meet the requirements.
