Many workers take the protective equipment provided to them home and do not use it when they should at work. The most common thing is to take the masks home and use them as rags or dishcloths. How should companies stop this situation?
Throughout the entire distribution cycle, if it’s a one-time process, then the entire recycling area!
PPE should be provided in accordance with relevant regulations; the key is to ensure that it is worn during working hours
Strengthen employee safety awareness training and enhance supervision over the use of personal protective equipment
Strengthen management and increase penalties; impose sanctions on those who do not wear them during working hours. I assume your organization doesn’t have any relevant regulations, which is why they take them home
This situation also exists in our company, and it’s very difficult to eliminate it. It is recommended to strengthen the inspection of personal protective equipment and increase the intensity of assessments!
Hehe, it’s impossible to eliminate this problem – everywhere there is private use of such items. Trying to eliminate it is unreasonable and goes against human nature and social norms. Instead, we should think in the opposite direction: under the company’s requirements and regulations, distribute the necessary protective equipment at appropriate times through proper planning, keeping records of it. Once that amount is used up, no more can be obtained; any excess can be kept by the employee. This way, there’s no waste, and the work needs are met. It also provides employees with a small benefit and incentive. We shouldn’t get too fussy over something as simple as a rag – that would dissapoint the employees. Our goal is to provide employees with as many benefits as possible, as long as their work needs are satisfied. In today’s context, protective equipment can be considered a form of indirect benefit. What do you think?
That means you’re distributing too much; distribute according to actual needs, and if there’s no excess, then of course nothing will be taken home
It is difficult to prevent employees from taking work supplies home. However, enterprises should establish regulations for the distribution and management of personal protective equipment based on actual conditions, to meet the actual needs of use. If it is necessary to wear personal protective equipment at the work site, and there are warning signs in place yet the employees fail to wear such equipment, they can certainly be punished in accordance with the regulations. Moreover, those who cause accidents as a result must be given severe punishment!
Evaluate the actual demand for protective equipment, establish strict rules regarding its use, increase inspection frequency, and foster a sense of safety awareness
We are the most pitiable. I work in the polypropylene extrusion and granulation section, and there is polypropylene dust everywhere all day long. . . . It’s terrifying; a lung cancer was detected in someone on our team not long ago, and that person passed away within a short time. You should know that we only get one mask per month – how is that enough? ? ? But I saw in many cases masks being tied directly to bicycles to clean them. . . . It’s a shame just to look at it:@
Personal protective equipment is very important. . . . . Be sure to wear it properly
First, strengthen safety education so that employees are genuinely willing to wear them at work and not take them home. 1. The raw materials used in general chemical enterprises are often toxic; taking some personal protective equipment home is equivalent to bringing toxins home as well ; 2. Explain the importance of wearing protective equipment, as it serves as the last line of defense for safety. Failing to wear it at home or during operations can lead to accidents such as burns and poisoning, which affect one’s own well-being. Secondly, strengthen the management of personal protective equipment. a. Reasonably determine the distribution cycle ; b. Establish a penalty system for those who do not wear protective equipment ; c. In the case of loss of PPE or abnormal damage due to human error beyond the specified period, it is necessary to purchase them at the original purchase price ; d. Provide fixed cabinets for storing personal protective equipment, and conduct regular as well as irregular checks to ensure they are complete ; e. Strictly enforce the regulations regarding the distribution of personal protective equipment.
Strengthen the inspection of personal protective equipment, and revise the standards for timing and quantity of distribution
Establish regulations for the distribution and use of personal protective equipment, specify the replacement cycle for various types of such equipment, and introduce a program for exchanging old personal protective equipment for new ones. It works very well; that’s how things are in our company.
Limit the quantity and timing of issuance, while strengthening management and supervision; it is mandatory to wear protective equipment at work.
Persuade with reason and move them with emotion to strengthen guidance
Since they are protective equipment, they are meant to be used for personal protection while working. If workers don’t need them, it might mean that no protection is required for that task. I think since these items are provided, it’s part of the regulations that protection must be ensured; therefore, the rules should be followed: protective equipment must be worn at work, and a record should be kept when they are received, allowing for replacement of old items with new ones. Enterprise safety officers should regularly check how such protective equipment is being used to ensure that no violations occur, as workplace safety is very important.
It’s very simple, oh – just hand in the old one and get a new one. This phenomenon has also occurred in our workshop before
Personal suggestions: 1. Distribute it on a monthly or annual basis according to the needs of the workshop; the first payment is given free of charge, but anyone who wants to receive a second payment must pay for it first! For example: One safety helmet is issued to each person per year, to be used exclusively by that person; in the following year, the old helmet is replaced with a new one, and those that get lost must be purchased by the individual themselves. 2. A batch is issued to each person per time; it’s up to you as to how you use it, store it, or take care of it. However, it must be worn or carried during weekly checks, and the results of these checks are taken into account in the reward and punishment system. 3. For special positions where there is a high demand or where items cannot be reused, they can be distributed for use in a centralized manner, and taken back when not in use, allowing for centralized management and handling.
