Regarding the steel plates welded on both sides of a vertical boiler with a single drum

Recently, while reviewing the drawings of a single-drum, vertical water-tube and fire-tube boiler, I noticed that there are two steel plates measuring 6×80×200 welded to each side of the front part of the drum. The technical specifications state that during welding, these steel plates should be level with the upper edge of the water wall tubes. I’m completely confused as to the purpose of these two steel plates; I would appreciate it if someone could explain this to me.
I guess it might be used for pressure testing, but I’m not entirely sure. Also, after reading a few posts, the replies from above are really frustrating……
Does the poster mean outside the boiler drum? It’s a furnace wall bracket.
It must be the furnace body that needs it! But it’s okay to cut it off even after the furnace body has been installed; I asked the manufacturer! I think it might be for installation purposes!
It should be the shims used for the roots of the side guard plate brackets, to prevent direct welding of the brackets to the boiler drum.
It must be required for installation! It may be used to support the boiler drum!
