After the wastewater from my factory is discharged into the river, white foam appears. Do you have any methods to eliminate this white foam? The main components of the wastewater are brine (at a relatively low concentration), with a slightly alkaline pH ranging from 7 to 8; in addition, it may contain trace amounts of benzyl alcohol or methanol. What is the cause of foaming, and what is the best way to deal with it?
Was it discharged without meeting the standards? It’s better to deal with those that meet the standards first before making arrangements, after all, this is where we live
It’s better to start from the source, minimize pollution as much as possible, and the investment required is not high either
Personally, I think there could be three methods: 1. Perhaps due to the alkaline nature of the water and its high flow rate, it is possible to adjust the pH of the water to 6.5 and reduce the flow rate in order to decrease the impact force ; 2. Add a small amount of defoamer for treatment ; 3. Install multiple layers of separation nets at the outlet to break or eliminate bubbles. Try these measures.
Wastewater treatment imposes strict requirements on both pH value and COD; wastewater that does not meet these standards cannot be discharged. Otherwise, fines or shutdowns for rectification will occur, which would be disastrous. Let’s leave a good living environment for future generations.
