Calculation of water hammer

Regarding the calculation of water hammer, does CAE SAR have any corresponding solutions? Which colleague has done this? Could you explain it?
When I was doing it, I only considered an additional force. Many times, it’s not even considered. For example, we once had a flare gas pipeline; during testing, an incident occurred at the unit, causing the liquid collection tank at the unit’s outlet to fill up and the liquid to flow into the pipeline, which resulted in the pipeline deforming and coming apart. It has to start with the manufacturing process – is it really necessary to install buffers along the entire 24\" pipeline just because of occasional accidents?
Thank you for the answer from above. It is still necessary to calculate water hammer and air hammer effects; this is very important in pipelines carrying high-pressure or hazardous fluids. The impacts of water hammer and air hammer can be life-threatening, so such calculations are indeed essential. However, performing manual checks relies on experience, and I wonder if anyone has any good methods :handshake
