Nitrogen blanketing is primarily used to protect the steam drum and its accessories from corrosion, which requires an understanding of the types of corrosion: 1. Oxidative corrosion, 2. Electrochemical corrosion； Conditions for oxidative corrosion: Oxygen is a necessary element, along with other oxidizing agents. Electrochemical corrosion: Corrosion occurs when there is a potential difference between the corroding object and another object, providing a pathway for electron transfer. Nitrogen is used primarily to prevent contact between the inner surface of the drum and oxygen in the air; since drum corrosion is mainly of an oxidative nature, an anti-corrosive coating is applied to the outside of the drum.
