31.3 Process Piping, Page 20: In the formula for calculating the reinforcement required for branch pipes, the reinforcement area needed for the branch pipe connection is given as A1=thd1(2-sinβ). What does (2-sinβ) represent in this context?
β is the angle between the axis of the branch pipe and the axis of the main pipe, generally ranging from 45 degrees to 90 degrees. As for what the original poster meant by (2-sinβ), I’m not quite sure. . . This post was last edited by tekchina on 2009-4-13 17:22]
