Tapered heads are generally designed as needed, and in terms of structure, stress distribution, and manufacturing, they do not have any advantages over elliptical heads. The welding joint between the large end of the conical head and the cylinder must withstand high bending stresses, so reinforcement is necessary.
Generally, elliptical end caps are recommended. The standards for elliptical end caps can be found in JB/T 4737-95. A fold thickness of 25 is generally preferred. Conical end caps are used when settlement control is required; they are not generally recommended
The selection of a conical head takes into account the properties of the medium and the characteristics of the process, as it facilitates smooth discharge of the material.
