What are the engineering and principle-based constraints?
In engineering, it is influenced by the **maximum diameter of the equipment to be transported**. In principle, can the atomization capability of the nozzle increase indefinitely as the furnace size increases?
Additionally, it is also constrained by operational reliability; whether it is technically and economically feasible boils down to whether it is profitable :'(
Some people say that for a gasifier with a coal feeding rate of 2000 T/d, four-nozzle designs are the most suitable. What are your thoughts on this claim? Also, GE introduced a 1,800 cubic foot gasifier in February 2008 (with a coal feeding capacity of 3,000 T/d). Does anyone know where this type of gasifier has been used? How’s it going?
The main reason for scaling up gasification is economic considerations; after all, larger equipment requires significantly higher technical standards, and it is difficult to ensure proper uniform distribution of materials as well as timely dissipation of heat when the scale is increased.
Additional note: The impact on the environment.
In my opinion, the key lies in the slag locking valve, as well as the manufacturing issues related to large-scale high-pressure manual ball valves and angle valves; with larger-sized equipment, manufacturing and transportation should not be a problem.
